Prof. Jan Hoinkis
He is member of the Department of Mechatronics and Natural Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe since 1996. Up to 1996 he was working with formerly CIBA-Geigy company as head of a group for process development in the field of dyestuff and chemical production (focus on environmental friendly technologies). At UASK he is giving lectures for students in the field of Mechatronics and Sensor Systems Technology. Mechatronics and Sensor Systems Technology play a key role in technical innovations for future process engineering. Prof. Dr. Hoinkis is teaching in
chemistry, electrochemistry and environmental process engineering. His speciality is application of membrane technology in water treatment in combination with sensor and control systems.
MSc Shamim Ahmed Deowan
He graduated as Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, Bangladesh. He studied at UASK "Sensor Systems Technology" and graduated beginning 2005 as Master of Science. He is working as assistant in the Department´s chemical laboratory since 2 years doing research work in the field of arsenic removal technologies from drinking water.
Dipl.-Ing. Lagaly
He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe as Diplom-Ingenieur. He is managing director of the Institute for Applied Sciences at UASK. His speciality is the management of research projects and the support and consulting of young academic entrepreneurs.

Dr. Alberto Figoli
Dr. Alberto Figoli graduated in Food Science and Technology (1996) at the University of Milan. He got is doctorate degree at Membrane Technology Group (University of Twente) in 2001 and since the end of the same year he is working as researcher at the Institute on Membrane Technology (ITM-CNR) in the field of membrane preparation, characterisation and processes (mainly in pervaporation) for wastewater treatment and aroma recovery. He is author of more than 15 scientific papers in the field of Membrane Science and Technology. He is member of the European Membrane Society.
MSc Alfredo Cassano
Msc. Alfredo Cassano graduated in Biology (1995) at the University of Naples. He is working as researcher at the Institute on Membrane Technology of the National Research Council (CNR) since 10 years in the field of the integrated membrane processes applied to the wastewater treatment (recovery of water, chemicals and by-products) and agro-food sector (clarification and concentration of fruit juices, milk pre-concentration, etc.). He is author of more than 15 scientific papers in the field of Membrane Science and Technology.

Prof. Akhtarul Islam
Dr. Md. Akhtarul Islam is a member of the Dept of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science since 1997. He has graduated from Bourgas Technological University, Bulgaria in 1984. In 1990 he defended his PhD thesis. Both his MSc and PhD theses were in the field of membrane science and technology. He has served as a teacher of theoretical mechanics and physical chemistry in Bourgas Technological University and 'Water and wastewater treatment technology' in Rousse University Bulgaria. He has passed two years in GKSS Research Center, Germany as a post-doctoral fellow. In SUST, he teaches
Chemical Engineering courses as Chemical Reaction Engineering, Mathematical Modeling, Transport Phenomena and Environmental Technology. His research interest covers Membrane Science and Technology, Environmental Science and Technology, and Mathematical modeling of mass transport processes.
Md. Tamez Uddin
Md. Tamez Uddin has joined the Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science in 2004 as a lecturer. He has graduated from SUST in 2003 from the same department. His research interest is in the field water and wastewater treatment-theory and practices.
Md. Salatul Islam Mozumder
Md. Salatul Islam Mozumder has also joined the Dept of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science in 2004 as a lecturer. He has graduated from SUST in 2003 from the same department. His research interest is also in the field water and wastewater treatment-theory and practices
Dr. Mohammod Aktarul Islam Chowdhury
Mohammod Aktarul Islam Chowdhury is an Assistant. Professor in the Deptartment of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has graduated from The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1996 and completed his M.Engg (Research) program from Dublin City University (Dublin Ireland) in 2000. His research interest is in the field of Water Management.

Prof. Rong Rong Huang
He graduated with MSc in Chemical Engineering at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China (1981). In 1987-88 he participated the 23rd International Seminar for Research and Teaching in Chemical Engineering and Physical Chemistry at University of Karlsruhe (TH), Germany. In 1993 he obtained his doctorate degree at University of Karlsruhe (TH) in the field of thermodynamics. Since 1993 he is director of the Chemical Engineering Department and has been teaching whilst carrying out research on chemical engineering and environmental engineering at Jiangsu Polytechnic University. He was invited by
the Centre of German Academic Exchange (DAAD) to visit German Universities twice in 1997 and 2001, respectively. Besides, now he is a member of examination expert committee of Key International Joint Projects in the Ministry of Science and Technology in China and a member of examination board of research funding in Education Section in Jiangsu Province. He is also in the editing board for “Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities”.
Prof. Dinlong Li
He graduated at ChengDu Institute of Geology (ChengDu University of Technology) in China, and got BM in 1990. He got doctorate degree from China University of Mining and Technology, China (1998). He is teaching and doing research in Huannan Mining Institute (Anhui University of Science and Technology) with focus on Hydrogeology , environmental geology etc(1990-1998), and in the field of environmental engineering with focus on waste water treatment, solid waster treatment etc(1999-). At present, he is director of the Department of Environmental & Safety Engineering and Director of Environmental Protection & Secure Engineering Research Institute at JPU (since 2001).
Msc Tao Qiu
He got his master degree from East China University of Science and Technology, P.R.China (1993). He is teaching and doing resarch at JPU in the field of chemical engineering with focus on waste water treatment.At present he shoulders the post of Director of the Department of Research and Design at JPU. Not only engaged in the work of experiment but also engaged in the project design on the waste water treatment.
Dr. Jing Zhong
She got her doctorate degree from Nanjing University of Chemical & Technology, P.R. China (1998). From 1993 she is teaching and doing research in the field of water treatment and gas separation using micro- and ultrafiltration membranes.
